The links section should include a link to www.deepforestmusic.com. This is currently the only active Deep Forest site and contains a library of Deep Forest information, much of which has been used in the Deep Forest wiki entries.

www.deep-projects.com should also be listed, but as Eric Mouquet's Official site, not the official site of Deep Forest. Deep Forest consists of Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez, so Eric's personal site can not be considered the official site. Furthermore, deep-projects.com, has little to no information on any Deep Forest music (1992-2004). The official Deep Forest site was www.sonymusic.fr/deepforest, but it no longer exists, and so currently there is no official Deep Forest site.

ps I apologize, but I do not speak Finnish, so if you can respond in English, it would be much appreciated, thank you. Kommentin jätti 152.19.65.220 (keskustelu – muokkaukset).

I also think both links should be included in the page. The reason why deepforestmusic is now banned is because someone or some people have tried several times to remove the deep-project.com link and replace it with deepforestmusic and at times even claiming that deepforestmusic is the Official site, which it most certainly is not. Once the deepforestmusic was banned, the link was changed to something similar and the attempts continued. These actions are clearly unacceptable behaviour in wikipedia. Instead of futile and childish attempts to sneak the link on the page, a conversation should've been started in the first place. Hence the url is now banned. What I think would satisfy all parties, is that the article would have the links:
  • http://www.deep-project.com/ As Eric Mouquet's homepage
  • http://www.michelsanchez.com/ As Michael Sanchez' homepage
  • http://www.deepforestmusic.com/ As a Deep Forest fansite
and no website mentioned as the Official Deep Forest website.
But I assume deepforestmusic.com is still banned in Meta, and there are higher people involved in this thing now, so there's really nothing I can do about it. Fact remains that unacceptable actions were taken to force the link on the site, which is an easy way to get the website banned from wikipedia. You'll have to refer to Mike.lifeguard or Agony in Meta on this matter to get the link on the page now. It is usually not wise to try to force content in wikipedia, if it is rejected by other users, it's better to try to open a conversation with the other users in such a case, and I glad you did so now. --Kimmo Laine 10. marraskuuta 2008 kello 17.17 (EET)[vastaa]
Originally (at least for some time) deepforestmusic.com, michelsanchez.com, ericmouquet.net were listed as links. Last summer deep-projects.com was created. The webmaster of deep-projects.com then added his URL to wikipedia and deleted deepforestmusic.com. This was an attempt to redirect longstanding traffic from deepforestmusic.com which has existed for nearly 8 years, to deep-projects.com. I had made several attempts to re-add www.deepforestmusic.com, but the webmaster of deep-projects.com kept deleting those links. It was more recently that I became frustrated with his deletions that I began returning the favor and deleting his link. But this was not started by deepforestmusic.com, it was started by deep-projects. Each time deep-projects re-added their site they deleted deepforestmusic.com. You can check the history of any wiki Deep Forest page to verify this. But it was deep-projects that started this and perpetuated this, resulting in deepforestmusic.com being banned ironically.
I realize that my retaliation of deep-projects.com was inappropriate, but it became quite upsetting when their webmaster kept deleting deepforestmusic.com, especially since deepforestmusic.com has promoted deep-projects.
Regarding the links I think the following should be included:
  • http://www.deep-project.com/ As Eric Mouquet's homepage
  • http://www.michelsanchez.com/ As Michael Sanchez' homepage
  • http://www.synsound.be/ As Dan Lacksman's homepage
  • http://www.deepforestmusic.com/ As a Deep Forest fansite
Personally, I think the link that is most relevant, and provides the best information (new and old) regarding Deep Forest should be listed first. I'm not sure why one would automatically assume the individual artist's sites would be listed first. Neither Eric nor Michel's sites contain any information on Deep Forest, which is the music that results from their collaboration. Their individual sites contain information about their side projects, and only deepforestmusic.com actually talks about the collaborative music from both. For example, there was a new Deep Forest song (altus silva) released last June, and neither Eric nor Michel's site posted any news about, where as deepforestmusic.com Kommentin jätti 152.19.65.220 (keskustelu – muokkaukset).

Linkkien muuttelua

--Kimmo Laine 8. marraskuuta 2008 kello 10.43 (EET)[vastaa]

Fanisivusto joutui metan mustalle listalle johtuen crosswiki-spämmäyksestä. Linkkiä ei voi enää lisätä yhteenkään Wikimedia Foundationin wikiin. --Agony (403) 9. marraskuuta 2008 kello 10.17 (EET)[vastaa]

Could deepforestmusic.com be whitelisted?

[muokkaa wikitekstiä]

It's true that the webmaster of deepforestmusic.com has been spamming the link in the past. But still, it's clear that the said website has the most Deep Forest content, so it would benefit the article to have the link to that website. It could be used as a reference source for expanding the article for eaxmple. I'm quite sure the webmaster of deepforestmusic has now come to his senses and understands now how wikipedia works and what is concidered as abuse. He's now apporaching the issue in a civilized manner by discussing it with particular users. As a result I've made a request for whitelisting deepforestmusic.com in fi.wiki and I think we could give it another try and see what happens. If the same thing starts happening again, then it's time to think it over and ban it again if necessary. (I'm writing in English for the convenience of the deepforestmusic webmaster.) --Kimmo Laine 24. marraskuuta 2008 kello 12.41 (EET)[vastaa]

I think suggest above would be best:
If this is accepted, I can whitelist deepforestmusic. --Agony (403) 24. marraskuuta 2008 kello 12.59 (EET)[vastaa]
I accept those, with the addition of the MySpace page. --Kimmo Laine 24. marraskuuta 2008 kello 15.28 (EET)[vastaa]
Done. If so however there will be any kind of link spamming, whitelisting is removed. --Agony (403) 24. marraskuuta 2008 kello 16.07 (EET)[vastaa]
Thanks Agony. I'll try to keep an eye on this article and let you know if I see that someone is messing with it again. --Kimmo Laine 24. marraskuuta 2008 kello 23.06 (EET)[vastaa]

My opinion is that the most official sites should be listed first, myspace Deep Forest page. Then I think the most relavent Deep Forest site should be listed, deepforestmusic.com, which is the only site with actual information about deep forest. Then the official sites of the artists behind Deep Forest. For this I think Michel should be first as the creater of Deep Forest, then Eric, and lastly Dan as the producer of the first album. Kommentin jätti 152.19.48.54 (keskustelu – muokkaukset).

Personally you can think whatever you like but de facto is that official sites comes first and fansites second. Don't push it because link order changing can be also considered as spamming and domain white listing can be cancelled. --Agony (403) 26. marraskuuta 2008 kello 13.55 (EET)[vastaa]

Can you please show me where the official wikipedia policy is to list official sites before most relevant sites? I keep getting the feeling that you are somehow equating Eric, Michel, and Dan's personal sites with some sort of official Deep Forest status.
Deep Forest is a concept that only exists when Eric and Michel produce music together. Their individual projects, and sites are not Deep Forest. Kommentin jätti 24.136.204.21 (keskustelu – muokkaukset).
Please remember to add signature after every talk page message by using button or writing ~~~~ (four tildes). Back to subject: like I said, this is de facto ie. there are no written policy according this but users have adopted this way automatically. No matter if Eric, Michel and Dan's personal sites are not related as Deep Forest but if these three persons make Deep Forest, they're site is more notable than fan site. --Agony (403) 28. marraskuuta 2008 kello 09.34 (EET)[vastaa]
Let me just remind you that people contribute to Wikipedia out of good will, because they simply want to share knowledge with other people. On the other hand, you seem very adamant about the placement of the link, it would suggest you have a personal agenda, such as getting more visibility for the website you are running. Your recent actions - such as spamming the link so much that it was banned - support this assumption. I suggest you drop the issue as a sign of good will, and satisfy for the links as they are now. --Kimmo Laine 28. marraskuuta 2008 kello 18.42 (EET)[vastaa]

So how long is the deep-projects guy going to be allowed to keep rearranging the link order throughout wikipedia, before someone reprimands him? He has been doing this for over half a year, where is the equality? 24.136.204.214 20. joulukuuta 2008 kello 22.05 (EET)h[vastaa]

Good question. deep forest fansite is still blacklisted in every wiki which has not whitelisted url separately. Fiwiki has whitelisted url (because I assumed good faith) but seems that deep forest fansite community do not appreciate this. So question (mainly for deep forest fansite community) is: do they want that their community url is blocked permanently or do they want to tell about their site where it is allowed, in links section bottom? Because on more time links are reordered and I remove whitelisting and remove fansite url to solve this problem.Misunderstanding, overline --Agony (403) 21. joulukuuta 2008 kello 09.53 (EET)[vastaa]
Now wait just a minute... You're talking about this change: [1] but it has nothing to do with deep forest fansite community. If you look at it, you'll see that the link that was moved was the deep-projects site, which is not the fansite, but Eric Moquet's personal website. It looks to me you're barking up the wrong tree, so to say. If someneone is to be accused, it's someone trying to get more attention to Eric Moquet's page deep-projects.com. So please don't jump to conclusions. The deep forest fansite people have been behaving well, so I see no reason to remove the whitelisting. If you want to stop vandalism, you should focus on the deep-projects.com and blacklist that if necessary, because that's what we're dealing with now. --Kimmo Laine 21. joulukuuta 2008 kello 11.08 (EET)[vastaa]
You are absolutely right, too fast, too furious... But for anyone who is considering link order changes: don't. Links are now ordered correctly by fiwiki de facto. --Agony (403) 21. joulukuuta 2008 kello 11.18 (EET)[vastaa]

Ovatko YouTube-käyttäjien kommentit nykyään tietosanakirjaan kelpaavia tiedonlähteitä?
