Al Foster

Al Foster esiintymässä vuonna 2007.

Al Foster (s. 18. tammikuuta 1944 Richmond, Virginia) on yhdysvaltalainen jazzrumpali. Hän varttui New Yorkissa ja opiskeli rumpujen soittoa itsenäisesti. Hän soitti teini-ikäisenä Blue Mitchellin albumilla The Thing to Do nimellä Aloysius Foster. Myöhemmin hän esiintyi ja levytti pitkään Miles Davisin kanssa.

Davisin kanssa 1980-luvulle saakka tehdyn yhteistyön jälkeen Foster on työskennellyt Cannonball Adderleyn, Sonny Rollinsin, Charlie Hadenin, Thelonious Monkin, Freddie Hubbardin, Dave Liebmanin, Herbie Hancockin ja Joe Hendersonin kanssa. Hän on myös johtanut omia kokoonpanoja.
